Brian Correll’s journey into aviation began in an unconventional way—through skydiving while attending Kansas State University. What started as a fascination with flight quickly grew into a lifelong passion, leading to a career that has included more than 9,000 flight hours in over 100 different aircraft types. Today, Brian serves as a KC-46 instructor pilot in the Air Force Reserve and a Production Test Pilot for Textron Aviation, combining military experience, technical expertise, and a love for aerobatics.

At the controls of his highly modified Pitts S2S biplane, Brian delivers a thrilling demonstration of precision, power, and skill. Originally built in 1979, the aircraft has undergone extensive modifications to its engine, airframe, propeller, landing gear, and avionics. As an FAA-certified A&P Mechanic, Brian personally maintains and improves the aircraft, transforming it into a world-class aerobatic machine.

While it retains the nostalgic appearance of a classic biplane, this Pitts is anything but ordinary. Constructed from a combination of steel, titanium, wood, carbon fiber, fiberglass, and fabric-covered wings, the aircraft is capable of speeds exceeding 230 mph and can even fly backward at more than 60 mph during certain maneuvers. Throughout his routine, Brian and the aircraft endure forces of up to 8 positive Gs and 5 negative Gs, showcasing the incredible performance capabilities of both pilot and machine.

Combining decades of aviation experience with one of the most impressive aerobatic aircraft on the air show circuit, Brian Correll’s performance is a celebration of precision flying, engineering excellence, and the excitement of flight.
